Mon, 14 April 2008 Hi blog readers! Jonny here sending you summary of our production for episode seven of my podcast. This episode was especially difficult to produce mainly due to my allergies that really kicked in this week. Springtime is here along with all of the quadrillion pollens blowing into Texas! Aaaachoooooooo!!! Excuse me! If you listen closely, you can tell my nose is all stopped up! I sound like Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer! HA! I think I went through a whole box of tissues for the show! Another obstacle we had, which we always have, is the train whistles in the background! We produce the podcast about 1 miles from a train track and we're NOT in a sound-proofed room! During this production, we timed the trains. Here's what happens: every 13 minutes, a train whistle comes within range of the mic. We literally have to stop and wait for 2 minutes for each train! That means that we have to stop at least 4 times an hour just for the trains to go by! HA! If you only knew! You might ask, "Well, Jonny, what do you do during that 2 minutes?" Good question! MacDaddy and I usually go over what we're about to say or what's coming up in the next segment. To do one show take about 3 hours of recording time just for our voices alone. Then, MacDaddy spends another 6 to 8 hours editing and mixing all of the vocal tracks and music tracks. Then, he spends another 2 hours on the images and researching links for the enhanced podcasts available on iTunes only. (Check it out by going to iTunes and searching for Jonny Dominoes). Images come up with links to cool sites on every episode! This was a special episode for me because we introduced our listeners to MacMama! She does a great job bringing the Historical Person of Influence segment to the podcast! We all hope you enjoy this episode! Even though we have lots of obstacles and it's a lot of work, we love our time together bringing it to you. If you've been listening in, I'd love to hear from you! Please be sure to go the website also! I try to reply personally to everyone that writes in because I love to meet you! That's all I have for now- gotta run! Thanks again for listening and reading! Have a great week! Jonny Category: text blog -- posted at: 11:55 AM Comments[0] |
